St. John’s Methodist Church

A Grade ll* listed building, it is one of the largest early C19th chapels in the country. It features a plaster ceiling and fittings by the celebrated Cornish architect Silvanus Trevail.
Built in 1828, with its large seating capacity, it provides a venue for many functions in the town, as well as a worship centre for its own congregation. Each year, the Easter musical fills the church to capacity on Good Friday and Holy Saturday. It is also the centre for the popular St. Austell Music Festival.
