STAK are a Cornish-based charity supporting vulnerable, needy and homeless members of the community, from across Cornwall.
Here at STAK St Austell we realise that life isn’t always straightforward and sometimes people can find themselves in difficult situations. Our aim is to support those who are experiencing the effects of poverty and to provide them with the help, support and assistance they need to take the next step in their life.
Based in the heart of St Austell, with premises at 8 High Cross Street, we offer a variety of different services.
Our community kitchen is open six days a week where we offer two affordable meals a day; one at lunchtime and again at teatime. Most importantly, the kitchen is a safe space for people where they can access support, advice and guidance.
Our team of volunteers give numerous hours to make the work of STAK St Austell possible. Supported by our manager, Kim Mathews, our volunteers are given the right tools and training to undertake their role.
STAK believe that prevention is better than cure and that it’s just as important to help people before they become homeless. Our debt advice services means we can support people to manage their finances and take control of their lives before it’s too late. Our aim is to offer more services like this in the future.
STAK are a friendly, non judgemental team, so if you’re ever passing and want to find out more, please do pop in.
